Mixed 1st Team Win Again

On a beautiful sunny afternoon of Saturday 30th January, the mixed first team had a league match at home against David Lloyds club (High Wycombe) .

They played well and enjoyed the match.

Afterwards, a nice traditional tea was had in the clubhouse.

The team only lost one set. They were convincing winners.

Well done to Finella, Grace, Alan and Phil.

Whatsapp For Who’s Playing

‘Whatsapp’ is here now to help members find out who is going to be playing on a Tuesday and Thursday evening.

There are two Whatsapp group chats about Tuesday and Thursday.

Whatsapp is an app which is available to use on most smartphones,  It can be downloaded for free.

This does not stop emails being sent out by members to advise others of their playing intentions.

It will no doubt take a few weeks for the app to become widely used by members.

Any questions on it’s use and getting added contact Grace – the Club Publicity Officer.

Men Top Of League

The Men’s 45 doubles team are currently standing top of the League.                                Next Saturday afternoon sees them take on neighbours, Farnham Common.                It may decide who takes the title of League Champions.                                                 The opponents sit in 2nd place and have home advantage.                                             Back to playing on tarmacadam !

Penn & Tylers Green, Hazlemere, David Lloyds BEC and Buckingham make up the other teams in the League.

There’re others getting fitter & willing to take the place of anyone unable to play!!                                                   Good luck to those selected…

Friday Morning Warms Up

A friendly morning of doubles play took place on Friday.  Whilst much of the country has rain and snow the frost was cleared well before 10am for safe play on the artificial turf. No slippery bits, unlike tarmacadam !

Friday morning tennis in action

Many play this first week of 2016

Great to see a ‘full house’ this Wednesday morning.

Good weather – dry, no wind & mild

Great to see one or two new players interested in playing and venturing on court.

Good work off of the extra Christmas lbs !

Great not to be tempted by tucking into the left over mince pies & biscuits in the tin.

Good to keep up drinking water before, during and after lots of exercise.
