Sundays 5 – 7      Cost of £ 7.50.

This is open to members of Stoke Poges Lawn Tennis Club and others.

Club teams win Bucks League

Well done to the Stoke Poges Lawn Tennis Club Mixed Doubles (Medlay) team who have competed hard this year to win the Buckinghamshire County Shield 2 pairs in Division 3.

This is a brilliant result overall as they were undefeated with one tie and rest of the matches won. The players who competed are –

Men – Mark Harvey, Tony McCaugherty, Alan Munro and Phil Nash                                                      Ladies – Finella Daywan, Jenny Milne, Karen Perez and Grace Whittam

Also well done to the mini-tennis players in the 10 & Under (green ball) team who won the Buckinghamshire Division 2B of the AEGON team tennis.  Great play from Steven Elmer, Jason Nicholas and Alistair Smith. Keep it going !  Stoke Poges Lawn Tennis Club junior players putting right up there amongst bigger clubs in Buckinghamshire.

Prize giving takes place at 8pm on Monday 23rd November,                                                               at the Holiday Inn hotel, Aston Clinton.

Monday evening coaching

The club is offering a brand new weekly coaching session to adults and older juniors (aged 16 and over) run by Andy Irving our new Coach, on Monday evenings.

Andy will be focussing on technique and tactics.

18:30 to 20:30
Special introductory offer of £7.50 for 2 hours payable directly to Andy on the day.
£2 per person per session for floodlights to the Treasurer.
Non-members £5 per session visitors fee to the Treasurer.

Wimbledon Ballot

If you’re a member of Stoke Poges Lawn Tennis Club you are entitled to free British Tennis Membership (BTM).  The Club is a Registered Club with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).

BTM for members is FREE.      Visit for further details.

Once you’ve free BTM,  ‘opt in’  for entry into the BTM Wimbledon ballot.  Perhaps you may     get centre court tickets for the 2016 Wimbledon Championship.

BTM also offers Aegon British Tennis ratings, a monthly newsletter, discounts and offers.


Monday ‘Rusty Rackets’ sessions

‘Rusty Rackets’ coaching sessions continue on Mondays from 1:30 pm to 3 pm.
Cost only £5 payable to coach – Andy Irving
This is a group coaching session following on from the sessions previously
delivered by Geoff.

Ideal for those who have not played for a while, those fairly new to the game
and those players who aren’t strong players who need that bit of confidence boost !

Vet’s Men beat Hazlemere but lose to Penn & Tylers Green

Some close match results of late in the Men’s Vets (over 45s)  Bucks County Shield.

A win against Hazlemere 5-3 was followed on by a loss away at Penn & Tylers Green 3-5

All remaining matches at home & next village along !.

FAST 4 Tennis

Introduced to British Tennis in junior competitions in September this is the new simple and exciting way to speeding up conventional matches.

  • First to 4 games wins
  • Tiebreaker at 3 games all to 5 points.Deciding point played if 4 all.
  • No ad scoring. Receiver chose which side to take serve. In mixed doubles player of same gender shall receive.
  •  Play lets.  Either receiver can play the return.
