  Junior Tennis
The Club has a large and thriving junior section. Throughout the year, coaching takes place on Saturday mornings (9:30 am - 12:30 pm). Hourly groups are organised, based on age and ability, and a waiting list is in operation. Autumn and Spring coaching takes place during weekdays, for those aged 10 and over, in joint squads with Dukes Wood Tennis Club junior players. Full use is made of the floodlit courts. Also, younger children are invited to attend performance coaching squads for mini-tennis after school during school term-time. During the Summer term, coaching takes place on Monday afternoons (3:30 pm - 6:30 pm). Professional coaching is provided by full time licensed tennis coaches from Dukes Wood Tennis Club and our own LTA qualified tennis assistants. Junior matches are arranged against other tennis clubs in Buckinghamshire. A junior club tournament is run each Summer and players are encouraged to take part in other competitions at clubs in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. The Club also hosts a Bucks LTA Grand Prix Mini-Tennis competition. Promising juniors are invited to attend senior match practice sessions in order to provide a seamless transition between junior and senior tennis. In recent years, several juniors of different age groups have been selected for county squad training. Fun tennis is often arranged in the school holidays on Monday afternoons supervised by adult members. The Club has a Child Protection Officer and all those engaged in coaching comply with relevant Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) policies. All coaches have enhanced Home Office Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) disclosures through the LTA. The Club is also working to achieve the "Tennis Clubmark" status which was recently introduced by the LTA. The Club has a long-standing partnership with Stoke Poges School. This enables pupils to play at lunchtime on some days in the Summer term and for older age groups to receive coaching on Fridays after school. Contact the Club Junior Organiser, Harvey Whittam, for further information.
